Strengthening Partnerships for Parent and Family Engagement While Navigating Federal Requirements
The objectives of PFE (SY 26-27) Module 1 - Overview and School-Parent Compact for Parent and Family Engagement are:
1. Recognize the importance and benefits of PFE through the use of current research.
2. Recognize critical factors and guiding principles for effective PFE.
3. Define parent and family engagement and its role under ESSA.
4. Master district and school level PFE requirements and allowable uses of Title I funds.
5. Explain the distribution and accessibility requirements for PFE.
6. Explore new resources and utilize available resources focused on PFE to enhance collaboration.
Consider being prepared to participate in the discussion of the following questions:

What is the goal of educational organizations (ESCs, LEAs, district support centers, schools, etc.)?

Can we influence parent and family involvement in our schools?

Recommendation for who should attend from your LEA: We recommend you have a team attendance of the key stakeholders involved in Parent and Family Engagement at both your LEA/district level and your campus levels. This could include your federal programs staff, your central office PFE staff, your principals, your campus level PFE Staff, any parent liaisons, truancy coordinators, counselors, and/or a superintendent responsible for approving and authorizing your PFE policies and procedures.
