In this course, we will explore the critical role attendance plays in student success and the strategies needed to address chronic absenteeism effectively. Creating a district-wide attendance culture is key to fostering a supportive environment for students, families, and staff. We will explore strategies to promote positive attendance habits across all levels. Through the lens of data, we will analyze attendance trends, identify patterns, and develop data-driven solutions to improve student engagement. We will also address chronic absenteeism and school refusal, understanding the root causes and how to provide targeted support. Finally, we will provide resources to help educators, administrators, and support staff take meaningful action in improving student attendance.
