In this workshop, we will explore the critical precursor skills that set the stage for successful reading development in our youngest learners. Understanding emergent literacy is essential for educators, and we will dive into research-backed strategies to foster foundational skills in early childhood.
Guided by the work of renowned literacy expert Dr. Laura Justice, we will focus on:
- Foundational Literacy Skills – Understanding the building blocks of reading readiness.
- Interactive Book Reading – Enhancing engagement and comprehension.
