This is an online, self-paced course.
The State of Texas requires all districts and charter schools to document student outcomes in three specific areas of development within 30 days of entry into and exit from Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). This is a requirement for all ESCE students ages 3 through 5. The training will address the State Performance Plan Indicator # 7, Early Childhood Outcomes.
Participants will:
-
learn the 3 areas to assess for progress monitoring,
-
learn what the state requirements are for the indicator, and
-
practice and learn how to complete data for the Child Outcome Summary Form (COSF).
Once complete, you should feel confident that you can gather and summarize student data for federal reporting purposes.
Since SPP 7 is a federal reporting requirement, all ECSE teachers, dually certified PreKindergarten teachers, Speech-language pathologists who serve ECSE students, and other personnel who serve ECSE students will need training in Early Childhood Outcomes.
For an overview of the three outcomes, you can watch a short video by visiting the ECTA (Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center) website at: http://ectacenter.org/eco/pages/videos.asp
