Step Out of the Storm: Understanding Crisis
Have you ever experienced a time when a student became upset and you were not sure what to do? It happens all too frequently. When students are under pressure their emotions can become heightened and tempers can flare. How you respond will determine how the situation is resolved. In this course, you will learn how crisis evolves and how to help a student de-escalate in a way that maintains student integrity, strengthens your relationship with them, and helps everyone stay safe. This course does not replace your district’s crisis-response training: CPI, SAMA, or Mandt.
