This self-directed online course will meet the requirement for a six hour update for teachers that serve gifted and talented students.
The Texas State Plan for Gifted and Talented Students requires that we identify and serve students in a variety of areas, including the option to serve creativity and leadership. Whether your district identifies these areas or not, many gifted students still have a high potential to exhibit characteristics of creativity and leadership.
In this course we will develop a better understanding of how gifted potential in creativity and leadership plays a role in gifted programs. Through this understanding, we will learn how to support students and implement instructional strategies that offer students the opportunity to explore their talents.
Course modules include:
- How to identify and serve gifted potential
- Gifted Creativity
- Gifted Leadership
- Making Connections through PBL
