TExES Review: Health Science 6-12

This course is intended for new and experienced teachers who want to review key concepts, principles, and strategies for teaching Health Science in 6-12 classrooms. This course is aligned with the Health Science Texas Educator standards and frameworks and can serve as preparation for taking the TExES Certification.

This 40 credit hour course focuses on:

  • Understanding the TExES Framework

  • content development of Health Science concepts and principles in grades 6-12

  • instructional strategies to apply content knowledge to the Health Science classroom

  • Activities and assessments that cover the Texas Educator standards for Health Science grades 6-12

  • Test-taking strategies specific to the TExES framework

The online course content is presented through articles, video, guided notes, worksheets, internet investigations, Flash-based learning activities, and self-assessments. This course also provides quizzes that include diagnostic TExES sample questions.
