Region 13's E-Campus

This course, grounded in the Texas Mentoring Educator Competencies, prepares educators to serve as effective mentors for those new to the profession. Participants develop the skills to build strong mentoring partnerships and support mentees in creating welcoming, organized, and accessible learning environments. The course focuses on guiding teacher candidates through intentional instructional planning and delivery, including lesson internalization, rehearsal, and the use of student work to inform strategic instructional decisions. Emphasizing alignment in training, expectations, and experiences across districts and organizations, participants also learn to implement co-teaching strategies that build mentees’ confidence and capacity. Ultimately, this course aims to strengthen educator effectiveness and retention while preparing new teachers to successfully lead their own classrooms.
